Straight Teeth - Without Seeing An Orthodontist

They say your smile is your business card... And I kinda like that...

That's why I don't mind investing in anything that makes these pearly whites look their best! A beautiful smile always leaves a good impression.

When I was in high school, I had braces. I then had a retainer which eventually got chewed up by my dog... True story.

Over time, my teeth have become a little crooked. I thought about getting braces again (quite a few times actually), but I really didn't want to go through that awkward braces phase again.

Recently, I came across a company called Smile Direct Club. I saw some pretty incredible transformations online, and even though my teeth don't need that much work these days, I got really excited and HAD to give it a try!

I want to start off by saying Smile Direct Club has the BEST presentation in regards to how their products arrive. The quality and service are A++.

Phase 1: Impressions

I was sent an impressions kit that came with enough mold/clay to make two impressions (just in case I messed up) of both my bottom and top teeth. It was actually super simple to do, and I used the second mold just as another reference! They really give you everything you need to execute the perfect 3D mold.

Be prepared to drool A LOT. It definitely won't be your sexiest moment lol.

Once you are done making molds of both the top and bottom, you just put them into the box and use their pre-paid shipping label to ship it back to them! It really can't get any more convenient. This is about a 30 minute process from opening the box to shipping it off.

They also give you a mouth expander so you can take photos of your teeth to send them online! I just used my iPhone in natural sun light and the photos turned out great! This helps them create your aligners, and it also allows them to create an online 360 view of your teeth showing how they look now and what they will look like after using your personalized aligners. Pretty fricken cool.

Phase 2: Aligners

This takes a bit of time to receive (I mean if your are impatient like me hehe) but it is SO worth it! Smile Direct Club really goes over and above!

How their aligners work is they send you a box of 3 aligners for each month - aligner 1 for week 1, aligner 2 for week 2 and aligner 3 for weeks 3 and 4. Each week you change to a new set which moves your teeth a bit differently.

This is reason number 2,658 as to why I LOVE their aligners, because it gradually moves your teeth. There is NO pain! It isn't like getting braces and having a couple days where all you can eat is liquefied food, you can enjoy all the foods you like and not have to worry about it getting stuck between your braces!

I am currently at the beginning of month two and I could not be happier! Loving the process so far! Will definitely keep you all posted on the next phase which is finishing the aligners and getting a retainer made! Stay tuned!
